You may be able to reuse your original key blade, but it is not a simple swap. The blade is secured in the remote with a small roll pin that must be removed and reinstalled in the new shell. Removing and reinstalling the roll pin typically requires a pin punch or similar specialty tool to avoid damaging the key blade or housing.
If you are comfortable performing the transfer, you can move the original electronics, battery, and key blade into the new case and avoid having a new key cut. However, if you do not have the proper tools, a locksmith can usually perform the blade transfer quickly and safely.
This replacement shell does not include electronics, a transponder chip, or programming.
