It depends on your state. Currently, 15 U.S. states require locksmith licensing: Alabama, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. New York City and Miami also have their own licensing laws.
If your business is registered in one of those states, you'll need a valid locksmith license to verify your account and purchase restricted items. If your business is in another state, a current business license tied to the automotive or locksmith industry can be used instead. License requirements can change over time — we recommend checking with your state's licensing board to confirm current requirements.
