You're partially correct. The K518USA was sold during certain promotions with free lifetime updates and additional software licenses included. However, not every K518USA package came with the same update policy or software bundle. This JLR 2015–2021 Write-to-Start via OBD license is intended for customers whose K518USA does not already include this function. If you're unsure what licenses are active on your device, please contact us with your serial number and we can help verify it.
