Unlike vehicle-specific OEM fobs, which often have aftermarket covers made to fit their exact shape, Xhorse universal keys use a proprietary knife-style housing that is not designed to accept a cover.
The remote does come as a complete unit with its own durable Xhorse shell, so no additional protector is required for normal use. If you ever need to open the housing — for example, to install the CR2032 battery or service the unit — the shell is removable with a small key shell removal tool.
