Abrites KT011 Key Inspector

Abrites KT011 — Key Inspector is an additional software function that allows you to read all the data held in a vehicle key. It works together with the Abrites PROTAG programmer: place the key in the PROTAG, read it with Key Inspector, and you see the information contained inside it.

What is shown depends strongly on the type of key. For older key types you can expect the transponder type; for later keys you can expect full, detailed information such as:

• Key type
• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
• Vehicle colour code
• Vehicle type
• Time and date of the last drive
• Battery voltage
• Quantity of fuel in the tank
• Mileage stored in the key

KT011 is extremely useful for insurance agencies, law enforcement and independent service shops, and it can also be used by locksmiths.

Supported key and transponder types

• PIT (PCF 7931, 7935, ELMOS) — BMW keys: key make, remote control availability, transponder / processor type, key position in the immobiliser (0 to 9), fixed code, vehicle equipment data, VIN, mileage stored at last start
• Hitag2 — all vehicles: transponder ID, transponder type (PCF 7936, 7945, 7941, 7961 and others), status (locked or blank)
• Hitag2 — Opel / Vauxhall: key make, VIN, mileage stored at last start
• Hitag2 — Renault: VIN, registration plate (if provided), mileage at last start, fuel level, oil level, date of return, technical inspection date and owner data (if provided)
• Hitag2 — BMW: key make, remote / hands-free availability, VIN, colour code, upholstery (UPH) code, key blade cutting code, remote frequency, key position, first registration date, mileage at last start, date and time of last use, fixed code, fuel level, battery voltage, outside and coolant temperature
• HitagPro — Porsche keys: VIN
• HitagPro — BMW keys: first registration date, chassis type, current and initial VIN, colour and upholstery codes, mileage at last start, date and time of last use, fuel level, battery voltage, temperatures, key position, key blade cutting code, key creation date, remote control code
• BMW G-Series keys: current and initial VIN, odometer, last drive, fuel, battery voltage, shipping, coolant and outside temperature, colour code, upholstery code, remote frequency, display key or no display
• Hitag AES: transponder ID and type; Renault keys also give VIN, registration plate, mileage, fuel level, oil level, inspection date and owner data (if provided)
• Megamos AES (ID88): transponder ID, key position, status (locked or blank), mileage at last start and the last 8 mileage records (km and date)
• DST Plus (DST80): transponder ID and status (locked or blank)
• Megamos 48 (ID48): transponder ID and status (locked or blank)
• Transponder ID only: Sokymat 8E, Temic 11, Temic 12, Megamos 13, Temic 8C, Hitag3, DST AES (Tiris AES), 4D (DST40), 4C
• Mercedes-Benz IR keys: key type (FBS3 / FBS4), SSID, key position, key usage counter, functional type, firmware version, operational status, hands-free and more
• Keyless DST-AES keys for BMW bikes: production date, place of production, VIN of key
• Audi A6 / A7 / A8 BCM2 keyless keys: odometer, hardware / software version, key production date

Depending on the key type, the information shown can be full or partial.

A PROTAG programmer and an active annual subscription are required to use KT011 — Key Inspector, together with an AVDI interface. Delivered electronically; your AVDI serial number is needed to process the order.
