Emergency & Insert Keys
Emergency Keys, also called insert keys, are removable mechanical blades used with smart proximity keys. Locksmith professionals cut them to operate the vehicle’s mechanical door lock when the proximity key battery is discharged, the electronic system is unavailable or a replacement insert is missing. Depending on the vehicle application and product, an emergency key may be supplied with or without a transponder chip.
