This kit enables key programming via a VCI (vehicle communication interface) on Ford vehicles equipped with the Active Alarm Immobilization system. The adapter isolates VCI power from the vehicle following a battery disconnect, while the extension cable — used alongside the 12V Battery Clamps to Cigarette Lighter (Female) Adapter and 12V DC5521 to Cigarette Lighter (Male) Cable — supplies battery power to the VCI.
