The OBDStar iScan Kawasaki does support the 2011 STX-15F for diagnostic functions, including code reading, code clearing, data flow analysis, and action tests. However, "no crank" conditions (engine not turning over) are usually caused by issues outside the engine ECU — such as a discharged battery, kill switch / lanyard, starter solenoid, neutral safety switch, or a wiring fault — and these often won't show up as a stored fault code.
The iScan can help by:
- Reading any stored fault codes from the ECU
- Checking key-on data parameters (sensor inputs, switch states)
- Confirming the ECU is communicating
It is not a substitute for basic electrical troubleshooting (battery voltage, starter circuit, safety interlocks), which is typically where no-crank issues are diagnosed.
