WedgeCo Spring Latch Depressor

WedgeCo / Tools
The spring latch is the weakest link of the door hardware and commonly wears out resulting in a door that won’t open.
The tool is made of an ultra thin hardened spring stainless steel that retains its formed shape.
It should be noted that an interior door latch is different than a building entrance latch.
The building entrance latch has a small cylindrical bolt that prevents the latch from being pushed back by a latch depressor unless the latch is broken or installed incorrectly.
However, if the door frame latch-plate is installed so that the door is loose fitting, the door can be pulled tightly shut, which causes the spring latch bolt to fall into the latch plate—then the ultra thin blade will push the latch back.
