The Abrites HK010 licence helps in any situation where you are adapting a second-hand ECU, VCU or another module that has not been — or could not be — neutralised beforehand to another Hyundai or Kia vehicle. It saves time, money and effort, because it makes it possible to adapt used modules safely and quickly.
The latest update allows every HK010 owner to neutralise VCUs (vehicle control units) on bench for the whole Hyundai / Kia electric vehicle range.
HK010 functionality — PIN code of the donor vehicle is NOT needed
- Neutralisation of the VCU for all EVs, on bench
- Neutralisation of the ECU for all non-EVs (petrol, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid), on bench — only for vehicles with smart keys or vehicles with an external immobiliser
ECUs with a built-in immobiliser can only be neutralised via OBD. Because HK010 is an update of the HK009 licence, the legacy functions remain available when the donor vehicle is present.
Legacy HK009 functions via OBDII — donor vehicle PIN code required
Vehicles with a smart key:
- Neutralisation of the VCU for all EVs
- Neutralisation of the smart system
- Neutralisation of the ECU for all non-EVs
- Neutralisation of the ESCL
- Neutralisation of the PDM (for vehicles equipped with one)
Vehicles with a mechanical key:
- Neutralisation of the immobiliser — this automatically neutralises the ECU as well
- Neutralisation of the Smartra module (where fitted)
Live data showing the state of each module (neutralised or active) and the number of initialised keys is displayed in the function window. Keys might have to be relearned to the vehicle after a neutralised module is installed.
Supported vehicles: all Hyundai and Kia vehicles, EVs and non-EVs.
What you need alongside it. Neutralising an ECU or VCU on bench requires the Abrites Distribution Box Set and the CB403 cable set for direct connection.
An AVDI interface with an active annual subscription is required to use this licence. Delivered electronically; your AVDI serial number is needed to process the order.
