A locksmith license is not always required to purchase professional key programming equipment from KEY4. Requirements vary by state, county, and city, and many jurisdictions allow auto repair shops, auto mechanic businesses, dealerships, and other automotive service providers to legally own and operate these tools without a locksmith license.

If you do not currently hold any business license or professional credentials related to the automotive industry, we recommend working with a local automotive locksmith or repair shop instead, as the OBDStar G3 is a professional tool intended for business use.
